Roles and permissions

There are four base roles in OptScale: Member, Engineer, Manager, and Organization manager. Use them to organize team access.

Member

A person with the Member role has read-only access. This role allows viewing information about the pool and its sub-pools but does not grant any permissions to manage resources.

Engineer

The Engineer role grants permissions to manage resources within the pool, including creating, modifying, and deleting them. Engineers are considered the owners of the resources and can act on behalf of the pool.

Manager

A Manager has extended privileges: they can create sub-pools within the pool, configure budgets and lifecycle policies for them, and manage assignments.

Organization Manager

An Organization Manager has full administrative access across all pools and sub-pools within the organization. This role includes all permissions granted to the roles mentioned above.
