In September 2023, Hystax released the latest 4.1 version of its software product, Hystax Acura, which has undergone several significant improvements and bug fixes in cloud backup, disaster recovery, and cloud migration.
The primary focus of this release is to support the oVirt virtualization management system, providing fully-automated functionality for secure and reliable disaster recovery, backup, and data migration for oVirt users.
Additionally, significant work has been done to enhance replication agent options, as their functionality directly impacts the replication processes and data migration:
- Implemented an external replication agent for the oVirt cloud
- Improved stability for the replication Windows agent, enabling it to handle more errors related to the VSS service. Added logic for retrying snapshot attempts in case of snapshot chain issues, accompanied by detailed notifications and recommendations for the client.
- Developed a user-friendly interface for external replication agents, cloud agents, and failback agents, allowing users to configure external agents based on their specific requirements and view real-time log files.
During the Hystax Acura 4.1 release, product deployment performance has been significantly enhanced. This led to substantial reductions in downtime and minimum failures throughout the disaster data recovery. An essential addition to the Hystax Acura product’s benefits is the capability to perform individual folder and file recovery processes.
Within the Hystax Acura software, the support for RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) versions 8.7/8.8/9.0/9.1/9.2 has been implemented for the Linux operating system.
Significant improvements during the 4.1 release process also extended to the Acura database cleanup procedures by adding new services.
